Privacy Policy
CardShow ("CardShow," "we," "us") runs getcardshow.com and the CardShow app, a platform that connects card show sellers, buyers and organizers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address, business or table name, and login details.
- Inventory and sales: cards you list, photos you upload, prices, grading details and cert numbers, and sales you record at a show.
- Messages and feedback: anything you send us by email or through the app.
Information collected automatically
- Usage information: pages and features you use, searches, and device and browser type.
- QR code scans: when you scan a CardShow QR code at a show, we log the scan and save an anonymous visitor ID in your browser's local storage so we can count unique visitors. This ID is not linked to your name.
Information from public sources
- Public social media posts: we use official platform APIs, such as Meta's Instagram API, to read public posts about card sales, including posts that tag or mention @cardshow.io. From these posts we record sale details such as the card, grade, price, show and date.
- Our sales data does not store the identity of the person who posted. We only feature or credit an account in our content, such as show recaps, when that account has tagged us or agreed to be featured.
- If a post is deleted from the platform, we remove the sale details we recorded from it.
How we use information
- To run CardShow, including your account, inventory, show listings and sales tools.
- To identify cards from photos and show price information.
- To check graded cards against stolen-card registries.
- To give show organizers reports such as total sales, sell-through and visitor traffic, using combined data from participating sellers.
- To build show-floor price data and market insights. These use sale details, not personal information.
- To publish show recaps and other content about the hobby.
- To support you, improve CardShow and keep it secure.
We do not sell your personal information.
How we share information
- Buyers: listings you publish to a show are visible to buyers using CardShow.
- Show organizers: organizers can see combined data from their show and which sellers participated.
- Service providers: we use providers to host data, run the app and process card photos. These include Supabase (database), Netlify (hosting), Anthropic (AI card identification), and card data and pricing providers such as Card Hedge, CardSight and PriceCharting. They may only use the information to provide services to us.
- Stolen-card registries: we send cert numbers of graded cards to registries such as the Global Trading Card Registry (GTCR) to check whether a card has been reported lost or stolen. If you choose to register your cards, we send the card details needed to register them.
- Data partners: we may share or license sale data, such as card, grade, price and date, with hobby and pricing companies. We do not include sellers' or buyers' personal information.
- Legal reasons: we may share information if required by law or to protect CardShow, our users or others.
- Business changes: if CardShow is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale, information may transfer as part of that deal.
Cookies and local storage
We store small amounts of information in your browser, using local storage and similar technologies, to keep you signed in during a visit, remember your settings and count unique visitors from QR code scans. You can clear this information in your browser settings, but some features may not work.
How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and business purposes. Sale details used in price data may be kept in a form that no longer identifies you.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your account and inventory in the app.
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email.
- If you live in California or another state with privacy laws, you may have additional rights to know, correct and delete your personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Data deletion
To delete your CardShow data, email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request" from the email address on your account. Tell us whether you want your whole account deleted or specific information removed.
If your public social media post was used in CardShow data or content and you want it removed, email us with a link to the post or your account handle.
We will confirm your request and complete it within 30 days. We may keep sale details that no longer identify you, and information we are required to keep by law.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
CardShow is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let users know through the app or by email.
